Developing a sustainable, nutritious food source

A work-in-progress, the Boch Chicken Farm will become a reliable place for Ugandans to purchase farm fresh eggs. Malnutrition currently runs rampant in Uganda contributing to more than one third of all young children being stunted in growth. The chicken farm aims to improve nutrition and muscle health in Wajinja by providing eggs to children and other vulnerable groups, like the elderly and HIV/AIDS patients.

Commercial poultry farming is one of the most profitable economic ventures in Uganda. Revenue can be generated from eggs, meat, organic manure for fertilizer, and the opportunity for breeding. The Boch Chicken Farm is being modeled after a successful coop in a nearby village and will provide training and employment to local villagers. Poultry and eggs will also be stocked and served in the Boch Cafe and proceeds from the farm will create an additional revenue source to fund our new projects and work in the area.
