During the pandemic, Ernie Boch Jr. was reminded of the lack of medical care he observed while in Uganda. There’s typically only 1 doctor per 22,000 rural Ugandan residents-and under-equipped health facilities are often 50+ miles away. To address the villagers’ desperate need for care, Boch began the construction of a new healthcare facility in Wajinja.

In a grand celebration filled with food, music, and cultural ceremonies, Her Highness Nagginda Sylvia Nnabagereka of Buganda officially opened the doors to Boch Medical Center on December 8, 2021.

The center offers general and specialized healthcare, emergency, and pharmacy services to the people of Wajinja and all who pass through. It is staffed by caring, knowledgeable professionals who provide prevention, diagnostics, and treatment. Utilizing modern technology and advanced medicine, Boch Medical Center has significantly improved healthcare in the community.
